Yesterday, ISIL members arrested the pediatrician Ghalib Shakir (a man), the Nineveh Prosecutor-General Ibtihal al-Khiyali (a woman), and an elder of the Jubur tribes Qayyara, Fawwaz Abdul-Aziz. The reasons for the arrests are not known.

Archeologists in Nineveh are warning of the danger posed by ISIL on Nineveh's archeological treasures, following the theft and smuggling of some of them. They are also warning of the effects of air strikes on archeological sites.

Warplanes have dropped leaflets over Mosul that call on the public to stay away from ISIL locations, in advance of airstrikes to be launched against them.
